Moscow metro is one of the oldest underground systems and the second busiest one in the world. Moscow metropolitan is also called “underground museum”. Every station was built in its own style, but majority of them clearly shows the Soviet-era architecture.
Most foreigners get lost in Metro and feel uncomfortable because all stations and instructions are printed in Russian language. But try once - Moscow Metro is really very simple!
First of all, look at the Moscow Metro map. It's even better to use interactive map. Find "from" and "to" stations you need on the map. Identify how many changes on your way.
When you change the line, check for the nearest pointer. It is in Russian, but you know the color, right? So, this color will guide you.
The Metro is closed for maintenance between 1 a.m. and 5.30 a.m.
